History

At the beggining of 2005 I traveled all over India visiting chief cities and famous pilgrimage sites.  I came to the city of Khajraho which is in the state of Madhya Pradesh.  Khajraho is famous for its rock carved temples.  I met an Indian man my age whom sold hindu statues to tourists during tourist season.  It was off season when I arrived and I befriended him and he offered to be a guide for me to visit friends of his family in a remote village 30 miles outside of town.  I enjoyed living in this village very much and stayed for 2 months.  The village was home to a few hundred very poor farming families of a very low caste.  I was aware that their children had no school to attend and when I inquired with my Indian friend what it would take to start a free school we both got very excited and did it.  Our first school started with 12 children and we hired a main teacher and a teaching assistant. 6 years later it has grown into 5 schools with over 350 students.  All the children that attend are from a very low caste and don't have access to any education or health care what so ever.  Nearly all of these children's parents cant read or write and have never attended school.  We offer free eduction and health care as well as helping out villagers whom need transportation to the hospital or health care needs.  I visited all four schools last year and they were more amazing that I could have ever imagined.  The children were all very eager to learn and all the schools were supported by their village.  I was greeted as a king where they danced and performed music for me as well as blessed me with a garland of flowers and sandlewood paste on my forehead.  By no way should any of you feel obligated to help but if you are interested there is a gift option available.  Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Jacob Theisen

Jacob Theisen sends $500 each month to completely fund the four schools he founded in the North-East region of India, that help support local economies of impoverished families.  The villages had no schooling prior to Jake's intervention and with Jake's financial contributions he is able to maintain functioning schools that help promote education of the individual and the community. He needs help from other fortunate folk who are willing to help support a cause that is directly trans-formative for hundreds of people.
